Create serial number category (Inventory → Configuration → Serial Number Category) and check Auto Create Analytic Resource

Set serial number category on product category

On Project → Configuration → Project Task Category, create a project task category and select the product.
Note: the tracking of the selected product should be By Unique Serial Number

On Task, set the project task category, and click Create Analytic Resource. It will create automatically the analytic resource based on the task name
