STORY BEHIND THE FEATURE

ODOO BEHAVIOR

In Odoo's older Subscription feature, there is no concept of a subscription period, meaning that users cannot track the start and end dates for each recurring billing cycle within the subscription. Additionally, Odoo does not allow invoicing before the subscription's official start date, limiting pre-billing or advanced payment handling flexibility.
 
CLUEDOO BEHAVIOR

Cluedoo introduces an enhanced Subscription feature that incorporates the concept of a Subscription Period and Date of Next Period. This feature allows users to define recurring periods within a subscription, such as monthly or yearly cycles, and track the current start/end date for each billing period.  Moreover, Cluedoo enables invoicing before the actual start date of the subscription, offering greater flexibility in handling advance payments and aligning with customer agreements.

Go to Subscriptions > New to create a new subscription > Fill in the necessary information > Confirm

When you fill in the start date in Subscription Period, the end date of the subscription will be automatically calculated based on your Quotation Template.

Current Period will also be added.


You can choose Invoicing Period BEFORE the Subscription's start date (e.g Subscription starts from Oct 1, Invoicing Date is 15 Sept)

After you confirm the subscription, the Date of Next Period will be updated as well

Note that it will jump to the next period only after creating an invoice.

In the Invoice, the Label and Start/End Date are based on the Current Period.
